Job Title: SQL DB Developer
Company Overview:

TableSafe, Inc. designs, builds, and sells hardware and software products to eliminate credit and debit card information theft. It offers RAIL, a pay at the table device that is designed primarily for the full-service restaurant industry. The company’s device communicates and exchanges guest check data wirelessly with point of sale systems.


The SQL Database Developer will be responsible for designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability and performance. You will work with other developers optimizing in-application SQL statements as necessary and establishing best practices. You will help solve all database usage issues and come up with ideas and advice that can help avoid such problems in the future.

Job Duties:

  • Cooperates with other technical team members to provide solutions on a variety of difficult problems.

●  Maintains the current application (JAVA)

●  Create, perform bug fixes and provide tuning for complex SQL queries

●  Help write and optimize in-application SQL statements

●  Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases

●  Prepare documentations and specifications

●  Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.

●  Profile server resource usage, and optimize and tweak as necessary

●  Collaborate with other team members and stakeholder

●  Work with deadlock scenarios and finding resolutions

●  Partner with Engineering to accomplish organization goals

Skills and Qualifications:

●  BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or equivalent job experience

●  5 years plus Microsoft SQL Server programming experience

●  Strong knowledge and experience working with current versions of Microsoft SQL server

●  Strong proficiency with SQL and its variation among popular databases

●  Experience with some of the modern relational databases

●  Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements

●  Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases

●  Capable of configuring popular database engines and orchestrating clusters as necessary

●  Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications

●  Capable of troubleshooting common database issues

●  Familiar with tools that can aid with profiling server resource usage and optimizing it

●  Experience with SSIS and SSRS
